Know More about Warm and Cool Mist Humidifiers

It is no easy decision when it comes to buying a humidifier, considering there are so many options available in the market. Before purchasing it, you must think about which factors will be important to you while using the appliance, such as pricing, effectiveness, child safety, and so on.

Types of Humidifiers: Humidifiers can be categorized into two groups – Warm Mist and Cool Mist. The primary function of these humidifiers is to purify air and increase levels of humidity, but their operation differs significantly. Take a look:

Warm Mist: They are designed to create warm moisture from heated water. Since it uses warm water instead of cold, it effectively combats bacteria or mold that could start to grow in parts of the gadget. This is one of the reasons why this type of humidifier is touted to be one of the healthiest on the market. Steam humidifiers and vaporizers are common types of warm mist humidifiers.

Cool Mist: Cool mist humidifiers are structured to disperse a cool spray/mist into the air. The “mist” is released at room temperature and will enhance humidity levels quickly. There are two types of cool mist humidifiers: Evaporative and Ultrasonic. The former has a fan and wick filter for increasing humidity, while the latter uses vibrated technology to break down water into small droplets which then formulates into cool mist particles. Cool mist humidifiers are the perfect option for humidifying large areas in your home or building.

Before coming to any decision, please make sure you weigh pros & cons of both types of humidifiers. Shortlist a few and examine specifications and features to check if they meet your requirements and are worth the money you are shelling out.
